VpsCity - Server Backup System
The new released server management backup system uses latest technology, which is a fast and extraordinarily versatile file copying tool. It offers a large number of options that control every aspect of its behaviour and permit very flexible specification of the set of files to be copied. Incremental backups are performed, where successive copies of the data contain only that portion that has changed since the preceding backup copy was made. When a full recovery is needed, the restoration process would need the last full backup plus all the incremental backups until the point of restoration. Incremental backups are often desirable as they reduce storage space usage, and are quicker to perform.
Users are able to schedule backups at different frequencies and are also able to schedule backups as granular as hourly all the way up to yearly and store data incrementally. Users are also able to configure alerts for each backup and receive email and SMS notifications of success or failed backups. The user is a able to select the number of backups they want to keep for each frequency. Users can view all backups and choose which files are required to be restored to the appropriate server.

File Backups
File Backups are available now for our clients with any server or colocation products for FREE! In order for you to be able to access this feature, you will need to login into the VpsCity Client Portal. Navigate to "Products" from the Client Portal dashboard menu, on the left and then click on the server product name from the products list you have subscribed to. It will take you to the product details page where you will then find the "Product Management" section. Click on the "Backups" icon and a popup will appear with different backup options and guidelines.
Description: File Backups also known as Incremental Backups is an effective method of backing up your files incrementally utilising storage space efficiently.
Schedule: You are able to schedule backups as granular as hourly all the way up to yearly and store data incrementally.
Restrictions: You cannot perform a bare metal restore with this backup. Restoring one or many files is extremely fast and easy to do and only requires 2 steps.
Requirements: The only requirement to use our File Backup system is a CloudDrive Essentials to store the data, the backup system is free.

The VpsCity Server Management Backup System is offered to all VpsCity customers. This system is compatible with all server types and is free of charge, however a VpsCity CloudDrive is required. The user needs to sign up with a VpsCity Essentials CloudDrive in order to utilise the service.
SQL Backups

Description: SQL Backups refers to the procedures of copy data from your database that can be used to reconstruct that database after any kind of data loss. This is the best way for you to ensure your data remains safe and private. Our SQL Backups runs scheduled backups of MSSQL Server or MySQL or PostgreSQL, zips and encrypts the backups, stores them on your server or in the CloudDrive, removes old backups, and sends an E-Mail and SMS confirmation on the job's success or failure.

How to use the VpsCity Server Management Backup System
Image Backups
Image Backups are available now with more intuitive features for our clients with any server or colocation products for FREE! In order for you to be able to access this feature, you will need to login into the VpsCity Client Portal. Navigate to "Products" from the menu on the left and then click on the server product name from the products list you have subscribed to. It will take you to the product details page where you will then find the "Product Management" section. Click on the "Backups" icon and a popup will appear with different backup options and guidelines.
Description: Image Backups also known as Bare Metal Backups is an exact copy of the disk at a point in time that can be used to restore the whole server back to the same state as when the backup was taken. This will completely wipe your server data. This is useful if you need to clone a server or take an image before doing an update or installing new software.
Schedule: Image Backups can only be taken Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly and are charged on a retention basis.
Restrictions: No incremental backups or granular schedules. Backups consume much more storage space and take longer to complete.
